This past Sunday (11th May) was a very special day... Mother's Day! I wasn't able to be with my mother and I am sorry to say that I couldn't post this then... but I didn't have my thoughts together so hopefully what I want to express will be poured out in my writings now... so here it goes...
I have inherited something that no money could buy; which nothing could take away. I have inherited the gift of motherhood. This gift of motherhood, along with a deep love for the Lord, has been passed down for many generations in my family and I hope to one day pass it on to my children and my prayer is that they then do the same. This inheritance is something that I keep close to my heart - something that I treasure.
I couldn't sleep last night thinking of this inheritance of mine. I was overwhelmed with emotion and still don't know if I will be able to express all that is in my heart. This gift of motherhood has been passed down in my family and I want to honor some of those that I love.
Margy Jones: just typing her name fills me with joy and strength. She is such a legend. MeeMaw's legacy and gift of motherhood has been passed down to my mother and therefore been given to me - I am honored to have been given this special inheritance and my prayer is that I pass it down to my kids and grandkids (my grandkids... wow, that is scary!). I sometimes think "Oh how I wish MeeMaw was here" but we will one day be together again and I look forward to that day! MeeMaw love for the Lord and her heart for her children and grandkids was incredible!
Bobbie Moore: i was not able to meet my Nana but I have always known that she was a special lady. The greatest compliment that was ever given to me was by my PawPaw when he going through heavy treatment for his cancer and he mistakenly called me Bobby - I have always been told that I look like her and resemble her - this I will treasure forever in my heart.
Julie Moore: not only my mom, but also my best friend. I love you so much. I can't even begin to tell you how good you are, how wonderful you are, how much I love you. I want to imitate all of the ways that you have shown me love.
Thank you Mom for just being you! I treasure our times that we get to spend together and I pray for them to be more often. I pray for you always and I am thankful to the Lord for the rich inheritance that He has given me!
